Vacation Advertisement

Chances are, people travelling abroad or even travelling locally will most likely have their mobile phones or mobile devices packed in their hand luggage or their pockets (unless you’re planning on getting lost in the wilderness). Mobile technology nowadays have enabled people to book train tickets, airplane seats, and even hotels – to name a few, and this is a great opportunity for businesses with travelers targeted as their target market to start looking into mobile advertising.

There’s an extensive library of travel applications on both the iTunes and Google Play stores, whether it’s the Trip Advisor app or one of the many tourist information apps users decide to download before their vacation or business trip, a potential advertiser could grab an extra handful of consumers if they decided to dive into the world of mobile advertising.

Many people while travelling will often be looking for a place to eat or hire a car for their travels imagine the vast amount of people an advertiser for a restaurant (for example) could reach if while a traveler is using an app to browse for a hotel in their particular destination, they spot an advert for that restaurant from a mobile advert within the app and decide to book a table. It’s a fairly simple concept but one that works.

According to Millennial Media “In 2012, 16 million consumers are expected to book travel on their smartphones, with 36 million researching travel” and with 29% using their smartphone to book hotel reservations. Let’s take the above example into mind when reading the previous statement and think of the vast amount of consumers the restaurant looking into mobile advertising could potentially take interest in their advert and possibly make a reservation.
